About Me

I received my B.A. in English from Wellesley College with minors in Education and Economics. Teaching English in China shortly after graduation led me to add an M.S. in TESOL from Cal State Fullerton. Thus, my teaching experience has been quite varied! From public school to a private classical school to homeschoolers, I really enjoy being in the classroom. Writing clearly and reading well are two of my favorite pursuits, and I hope to help equip your student with these tools for a lifelong journey of learning. 

About My Class

Next year, I will be offering a humanities class to 6th graders in Middle Ages History (2023-2024). This time period is so fun to get into! Your student will get to know a host of fascinating historical figures and fictional characters. Only in the Middle Ages can King Arthur, Beowulf, and Aladdin happily mingle with Genghis Khan, Charlemagne, and Eleanor of Aquitane. This class will expose your student to different viewpoints through reading and examining primary, secondary, and historian sources as well as fiction, biographies, and relevant classic literature. Students will engage in active learning through hands-on activities and map work.
